After reading “Year of Yes” by Shonda Rhimes at the end of 2015, I gained the courage to develop this blog. In the past, I have played with the thought of starting a writing platform however my self-doubt stopped me and my fears of what others would say blocked me. I had to work on exploring my negative self-talk and begin to challenge them. Rhimes’ book was the icing on the cake when she encouraged me to say “YES” to what I feared most.
As humans, we have different roles that define us. A few of mine include being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, volunteer, therapist and the list goes on. These roles can produce overwhelming feelings from time to time. I’m learning that I am not multiple people, but one person with several roles literally taking it day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. This blog will provide a light-hearted, witty writing from a therapeutic perspective towards self-evaluation and reflection on this crazy thing called life. This blog is for the woman who is looking to step up and step out into a balanced life. Ultimately, my hope is to create a pathway for strides towards a fabulous life for others, myself included.
